The checkbox is unchecked by default. The "Continue" button remains disabled until the user explicitly checks the consent box.
Users cannot proceed with account creation without opting in to SMS.

Only users who have opted in via the consent checkbox above receive proactive or automated messages. These include:
Conversational replies (responses to texts the user sends DayOS) are only sent in direct response to user-initiated messages and do not require separate opt-in.
Message frequency varies based on your schedule and notification preferences. Typical usage is 1–5 messages per day. Conversational messages are sent only in response to texts you initiate. Proactive notifications (briefings, reminders) can be customized or disabled in your account settings.
You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time:
Users can text the DayOS number to manage their family schedule (e.g. "Add soccer Tuesday at 4pm"), and DayOS replies with a direct response. These conversational replies are sent only in response to user-initiated texts.
Proactive and automated messages (briefings, reminders, notifications) are never sent to users who have not opted in via the explicit consent checkbox during onboarding. If a user replies STOP, all proactive messages cease immediately.
Message and data rates may apply. DayOS does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier's standard messaging rates apply. Contact your wireless provider for details about your messaging plan.
Your phone number is used solely to deliver the DayOS service. We do not sell your phone number or SMS data to any third party. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
